Leedskalnin's flywheel was used to generate a master oscillating electric current. With this approach the frequency of oscillation of the current was tunable by varying the rpm of the flywheel. Also, the flywheel effect itself could be used to stabilize to a specific desired frequency so as to eliminate frequency drift.
